- Shottr: Can be used free, periodically asks users to consider a license, and requires a paid license for commercial use under its current terms. Update checks and optional telemetry use the network.
- Waindow: Free with no account, trial, subscription, license key, telemetry, or remote capture upload. Product source is private.
- Install
- Shottr: The current official build is signed and notarized and supports macOS 10.15 and later.
- Waindow: Requires macOS 13.1+, supports Intel and Apple Silicon, and ships as one 7.77 MB ZIP. It is not yet Developer ID notarized, so macOS may ask you to use Open Anyway on first launch.
